Flying by…
My time in Italy is going by very fast, with many meetings and various other commitments.
About ten days ago I also had the surprise of seeing snow in Cuneo, my hometown: it's a sight (and a gift) that I always enjoy!
It
is a period of rest (some) and meetings (many!). I will continue like
this until April 14, when I will be returning to Central Africa. The
meetings are an opportunity to talk and share the beauty of the Mission.
Soon (the dates look like a tour!) I will be in the Parish of Arluno
(MI), on March 19, and in the evening around 10pm there will be an
interview on Radio Maria; on March 22nd I will be in Lecco, for an
evening in Fr. Norberto's hometown, and on March 24th in Cuneo, for the
vigil for the missionary martyrs.
Fr. Norberto continues his
journey of healing, always in Bologna. He underwent some more
interventions, and slowly the situation has stabilized. He went through a
few days of extreme tiredness, but his morale is high and the prayers
and love of many support him a lot.
Now I am writing to you from
Bangui! I left on Saturday March 11th, and the following day I arrived
in the capital, to be able to follow the work of our convent. Today,
Tuesday March 14th we had our usual site meeting, and tomorrow I will
be leaving for Italy.
The situation in Central Africa is rather
tense: the increase in the price of fuel has triggered a series of very
heavy increases, and these, in turn, have caused many strikes. Now, and
for 21 days, the teachers are on strike…
Courage!
